Details on that Anthology

Hello! Not so long time no write! I’ll keep this one brief, and just let you know about the goings on.

MI-GRA-TION (noun)

1) Seasonal movement of animals from one region to another.

2) Movement of people to a new area or country in order to find work or better living conditions.

3) Movement from one part of something to another.

Three definitions to inspire writers around the world and an unlimited number of possible stories to tell. Here are 120 of our favorites.

Migration features 300 word speculative flash fiction stories from across the rainbow spectrum, from the minds of the writers of Queer Sci Fi.

First: I entered QueerRomance Ink’s submission call for their latest anthology of micro fiction stories (just 300 words!) The theme was Migration and while I wasn’t chosen as one of the three top finalists, I did receive an honorable Mention and my story will be published in the book. Which you can pick up from the following retailers, which you can pick up from the all major retailers like Amazon | iBooks | Barnes & Noble

The characters had to be queer, it had to be science fiction, and they had to convery some definition of the word migration all in just 300 words. Either as in people, a flock of animals. I saw a title that alluded to one of the entrants using another interpretation of the theme and I can’t wait to read it myself. I tried it because I was interested in the challenge of it[. I hadn’t expected to be accepted, but it was definitely fun.

I can’t show you the story that I entered, BUT I do have another that I wrote around the same time, for the same purpose. You can read it here if you’re interested.

Lastly, here’s a playlist I’ve been sitting on for a bit(and really should have been out a long time ago). This one’s for Phil!

In other news, I’m closing in on the end of one of my many WIPs. It’s not the next book in the Nasu/Blood Sealed series, but I am still working and thinking on that as well. I’ll tell you more when I’ve got more, though I’ve been talking about it on Twitter (@jaylupinpretty regularly.

Alright, I said I’d keep this short, so just a reminder that there’s a FB and a patreon where you can keep up with me and sometimes get sneak peeks of WIPs more regularly than the newsletter.

I’ll be hosting a giveaway soon so keep an eye out for that!

TTFN!
